Millions of refugees have fled their homeland of South Sudan to escape civil war and ethnic cleansing and now reside in refugee camps in Uganda and neighboring countries. It is believed that an additional 3000-5000 people are coming over the border to Uganda daily. The conditions in the overcrowded refugee camps are dire. Children and families are going days without food or water, and many are dying of starvation.
REFUGEES ARE IN CRISIS
According to United Nations humanitarian coordinator, Stephen O’Brien, the world is facing its largest humanitarian crisis in the history of the U.N., which was founded in 1945. O’Brien told the U.N. Security Council that more than 20 million people across four countries in Africa and the Middle East are at risk of starvation and famine.
“We stand at a critical point in our history,” he said. “Without collective and coordinated global efforts, people will simply starve to death.” *

JOIN US IN TAKING ACTION TO HELP FEED THE STARVING IN THIS MASSIVE CRISIS.
On November 4th, our community is coming together and packing 1,000,001 meals to ship directly to the refugee camps to feed these starving children and families. Just 25¢ provides a protein rich nutritious meal for a child. Meals will be distributed in the BidiBidi Refugee Camp through our partner in Northern Uganda, Missions1040, who is working through the local churches that have been planted throughout the camps.
