Impact Teams

Each year, Kids Around the World sends teams composed of playground builders, play relief teachers, and many others who connect with and assist those in need. Teamwork on the mission field is crucial in demonstrating genuine love to the local community, as well as how healthy relationships can accomplish positive change, forever impacting a nation for Christ. Team members also express life transformation as they engage poor, war-torn communities around the world, overflowing in the love that the Father has for the precious individuals living there.

Trip Info: This is an amazing opportunity to join our partner, Children’s HopeChest in Lesibovu, Swaziland. As a team we will be helping to bring transformation to the children and families of this community. Our project will enable Children’s HopeChest to better meet the physical and spiritual needs of this community. We will be providing a safe play space for children at a CarePoint. This CarePoint meets the most basic needs for these families.

Trip Info: Over the past 20 years, Tijuana has become a gathering point for migrants, refugees and people looking for a better life.  Come join us as we partner with a local ministry that is planting churches for the growing east Tijuana communities.  Kingdom Builders has planted over 30 churches here and maintains a huge heart for these communities. Trip Info: Over the past 10 years we have worked in the “unchurched” areas of Ecuador.  Come join us on this trip as we engage another community by working with its children through a playground and kids programs.  You will love this church planting model and fall in love with our local staff and the people we are serving.  This is also a great trip for families with small children!  So come as a family and help transform a community!

Local Partner Info:  Kids Around the World has operated a local office in Ecuador since 2007.  In that time we have trained 1,000’s of teachers, built over 20 playgrounds, planted 9 churches and responded to relief opportunities all over the country.  Our work in Ecuador focuses on children being the key agent of change in the community and resourcing them means transforming the community!

Trip Info: Come join us in Peru as we serve our local church partner in Lima.  Camino de Vida church is a vibrant church serving Lima for over 25 years.  Our team will go to encourage the church and serve their surrounding community by building a playground and doing children’s outreach.  You will love working with the people and serving the gracious Peruvians.

Local Partner Info:  Camino de Vida church has been serving Lima and Peru for decades.  One of their biggest gifts to Peru has been their outreach focus to the poor in the country.  With monthly teams and weekly programs, they have been sharing God’s love to Peruvians in a real and tangible way that has supported the local church tremendously.  caminodevida.com

Trip Info: This team will build a playground for the children of the Mountain View School in Kingston, Jamaica, in partnership with Food for the Poor.  The team will stay at the beautiful Rafjam Bed & Breakfast in Irishtown, Jamaica, about 45 minutes from Kingston in the  mountains. We will travel daily to the work site, and conduct ministry outreach with our partner, Embracing Orphans.  There will also be a day of excursion fun before returning home.

Local Partner Info: Food for the Poor is our partner on this project. They provide meals for thousands of children around Jamaica, and have selected Mountain View School in Kingston to receive this playground.

Trip Info: Although the landscape and wildlife of Cape Town, South Africa is beautiful, the living conditions for millions in the surrounding townships is not. We have an opportunity to make an impact in the townships of Paarl, a community where children are abandoned by their parents and where hope has worn thin. Join us in an amazing effort to distribute food to hungry children, build a playground and train children’s workers to share the stories of Jesus with children. You will come back with a huge heart for the amazing people of Paarl!

Local Partner Info:  Monte Christo Miqlat’s mission is to sustainably help and empower those in their community who are in need. They work to address the root of poverty in their communities, assisting the needy to experience healthy, fulfilling lives, both physically and spiritually.

Trip Info: Come join us as we serve alongside our ministry partners, Verbo Christian Ministries in Puerto Cabezas, Nicaragua!  Known in the local Miskito language as “Bilwi”, this impoverished coastal Caribbean town is full of life, cultural history, and the thriving Verbo Christian Ministries, serving thousands of children and families through the Verbo church, orphanage, 2 Christian Schools, Community Feeding Center and City Dump Food Outreach.  We’ll be building a playground at one of their 2 schools – the Verbo Christian School located on the main ministry compound.  We’ll also take time to serve at the Community Feeding Center and the City Dump where our OneMeal food is served to 600-800 children each day.   Time and weather permitting, we may even be able to include an excursion to the warm waters of the Caribbean to share with the children from the orphanage a day at the beach!

Local Partner Info:  Kids Around the World has been partnering with Pastor Earl Bowie of Verbo Christian Ministries for more than 5 years.  Pastor Earl’s heart is to minister to the people of Nicaragua through building relationships and demonstrating Christ’s love daily. Earl also has a special passion for the native Miskito people who live along the Coco River, where he has planted 16+ churches.  Kids Around the World partners with Pastor Earl to bring food, play and the good news of Jesus Christ through KIDStory to all of these areas of his ministry.

Trip Info: Come join us as we continue to serve the Syrian Refugees and vulnerable children in Zahle, Lebanon. Our goal is to serve the local church and provide encouraging resources to them while we are there. We will be building on past relationships which will bring hope and encouragement to your heart as you learn more about their work with Syrians and at risk children. This trip will build your heart for others in the region and around the world!

Local Partner Info:  We will be working with several partners including some churches in the country. Each of these partners have a unique calling and we are focused on building their capacity to reach and serve children. Trip Info: This Impact Team gets to build playgrounds in two small remote mountain villages a few hours outside of Guatemala city – Laguneta & Sanyoyu. We will stay at a guest house-style facility about 30-45 minutes away, and shuttle each day to our service projects. We can’t wait to interact with the local people, especially the kids, in these villages and serve with those who will be helping us along the way. Lodging will be similar to a multi-bed guest house, and local food will be provided. Depending on how the installations go, we also look forward to spending one of our days exploring the sites of this beautiful “Land of Eternal Spring”.

Local Partner Info:  We will be serving at two relatively new church plants that work with Commission to Every Nation (CTEN) Ministry, to help impact their communities with God’s love and hope – communities who have very little outside help, and trust wholly on the Lord to support and grow their kingdom work!

Trip Info: Give the gift of hope and play on our Christmas/New Year’s trip to Haiti.  Join us as we return for the third year to bless the ministry of Grace International.  Our team will stay at Grace Village where you will experience the culture of Haiti and its people.  This is a great trip for teens and college students to get a better understanding of poverty and God’s heart for the poor.  Come! Serve with us as we serve and share the transforming hope of Christ with the children and their families.

Local Partner Info:  Grace Village in Carrefour, a suburb of Port au Prince, is the 20 acre site of the Grace Pediatric Hospital and Medical Clinic, a Girls Home with 47 residents, the Lamentin Church, an elementary school and a Girl’s Transitional Home.Three miles away is the Grace Boy’s Home with 48 residents, the Widow’s Home and the Waney Church. After the 2010 earthquake, Grace Village became the site of the second largest tent camp in the Port au Prince Area with more than 23,000 refugees. The “Lord’s Kitchen” was set up near the tent city to help feed the tent city children and is still part of the ministry outreach of Grace Village. The local government granted Grace International 6 acres of land in the Lambi Community, approximately 5 miles away, to build houses for the earthquake refugees.  In the past three years at Lambi, the first 56 homes have been built with the help of volunteer work teams and the prospective owners. A second village is under construction about 12 miles West, to be known as Heritage Village, containing 88 homes and a boys’ orphanage. Operating since 1974, Grace International was founded by Bishop Joel and wife Doris Jeune, who together oversee and lead the organization in the roles of President and Vice President.  For the past 43 years, Grace International has been impacting lives through the oversight and management of many churches, 70 schools, 3 orphanages, as well as a medical/dental clinic, a pediatric hospital, a home for elderly widows, vocational school and Community sustainable villages.

Trip Info: Our team will be made up of friends and family of Kari & Mike, who would like celebrate with us and work to bless some special children in Mexico.  We will be serving in a very poor area near Tijuana, helping a start-up church reach out and bless the children/families in their community by building a playground at their local Feeding Center.  We will plan to spend 3-4 days building a wonderful, safe and fun playground, and then enjoy watching them play on our gift! We will have plenty of time to play with the children and show them our love as well as God’s hope. The plan is to be able to visit a nice beach along the Pacific coast for one afternoon at the end of our time together, before heading home.

Local Partner Info:  Kingdom Builders is a ministry in Northern Mexico who works to start new churches in neighborhoods and rural villages where there is no local church influence.  They have provided us with a church that has a Feeding Center, bringing in hundreds of kids daily, feeding them, and loving them.
